Saturday’s Ella Eyre Appearance

Ella Eyre joined us for an appearance at the festival on Saturday, joining the crowd and enjoying the festival with us all.

Ella Eyre is a British singer/songwriter whose unique talent and powerful voice had earned a BRIT, a MOBO, a No.1 single and a top 5 album — all before the age of 22. Her appearance at Make the Future Live brought a bit of musical glamour to the festival during a very sunny Saturday afternoon.

Lemar’s Friday Night Set

Lemar gave us a special acoustic session on Friday evening, delivering a slick sequence of his amazing hits as darkness fell and the temperature began to drop.

The English singer-songwriter Lemar is one of the most successful male British solo artists of the last decade, having had seven UK Top 10 singles and selling over two million albums worldwide. His brilliant set was as professional as it was catchy, making sure that our Lates crowd were kept well entertained.

Alexander Armstrong Hosting Friday’s Podcast Debate

We enjoyed the smart, witty and irrepressible Xander Armstrong chairing our Intelligence Squared podcast on Friday as part of our Lates session.

Xander wrangled our panel of experts as they debated the Smart City, asking if technology was making us the masters or slaves of the urban environment. One thing we had no doubts about: with presenters as sharp as Xander, we’re unlikely to need to switch to a robot host any time soon.
